The objective of this agreement is to improve the profile of members of emergency services so, in case of assistance within wind turbines it can be carried out under necessary safety conditions and performed as quickly as possible. In order to achieve this, training programmes are provided by the Health and Safety Department of EROM so member of the Emergency Agency of Navarra may know wind farms and get used to its conditions (working spaces within wind turbines and usual dimensions), risks and protocols in case of accessing to them.
During this training programme, two groups of 15 delegates of the Emergency Agency were performed at the EROM´s Training Centre, located in Tafalla (Navarra). This training centre is certified for the provision of safety training under the GWO´s standard (Global Wind Organization). A 16 hours-theoretical and practical training allowed members of the Emergency Agency to get used to works at heights equipment, as well as to perform practices on works at heights protocols, emergency evacuations, rescue of injured technicians within wind turbine´s blades and hubs.
This collaboration was signed by both Parties in 2015, being aware of risks involved within the wind industry maintenance-activities to which emergency services of the Foral Community of Navarra must face in case of an assistance.
